Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco recently led the distribution of assistance to Market 3 fire survivors who are still temporarily sheltered at the Navotas Fishport Complex after a fire engulfed their homes in January this year.

Survivors of fires that razed houses in Barangy Bagumbayan South at Sipac Almacen also received Christmas presents, as some 693 families received P2,000 each in cash assistance from the city government.

Tiangco and the City Social Welfare and Development Office paid the survivors in Market 3 a visit. Meanwhile, those from BBS and Sipac went to the Navotas City Hall for their gifts.

Previously, Christmas arrived early for the families of the inmates of the Navotas City Jail as Mayor Tiangco and the Manila Chinatown Lions’ Club gave them gifts.

Around 1,200 families received gift packs containing rice, canned goods, toiletries, clothes and slippers.
