Navotas City’s best-equipped ship welders now need to be trained with the help of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco said the current deficit for welder fitters for shipping companies in the city is “great.”

Tiangco and Vice Mayor Clint Geronimo recently led the groundbreaking of Tesda’s fourth and largest skill training center on C3 Road, Barangay North Bay Boulevard South.

In addition to shield metal arc welding, courses at the center include students’ automotive servicing, electronic product assembly and servicing, electrical installation and maintenance, refrigerator and air-con servicing, contact center servicing, animation and visual graphics, and carpentry.
